The Art of Woodturning: Crafting a Wooden Succulent Pot - Candle Stand

Master Woodturner Creates a Wooden Candle Stand.

At Clines Crafted Woodworking, we are proud to bring our passion for woodworking to life with every piece we create. In this article, we would like to take you into our workshop and showcase the process of creating a beautiful wooden candle stand and matching succulent pot on the lathe.

Selecting, mounting turning the wood on the Lathe

Our skilled woodturner starts by selecting pieces of wood and mounting them onto the lathe. They then begin to turn the wood, carefully shaping each piece into the desired form. With each pass of the tool, the wood begins to take on a more refined shape until it reaches its final form as a smooth and symmetrical candle stand and succulent pot.

Sanding rough areas.

Once the turning is complete, the woodturner moves on to sanding each piece. This process removes any rough or uneven areas and prepares the wood for finishing. Our woodturner uses a series of progressively finer grit sandpapers to achieve a smooth and even surface on both the candle stand and succulent pot.

Finishing the Pieces

The final step is finishing, where our woodturner applies a protective coat of oil or wax to each piece. This helps to preserve the natural beauty of the wood and protect it from moisture and damage. The finished product is a beautiful set of functional wooden pieces, a candle stand and matching succulent pot, ready to be used and enjoyed for years to come.

In conclusion, creating wooden candle stand and succulent pot on the lathe is both an art and a craft. It requires skill, patience, and attention to detail, but the end result is a beautiful set of functional art pieces that bring joy and relaxation to those who use them. If you are a fan of woodworking, we highly recommend giving woodturning a try. You may be surprised at how fulfilling and relaxing the process can be.
