The Right Size Dining Table For Your Space and Needs.

Tips for choosing your table size.

A simple rule of thumb to quickly know a table will fit in your space:

-Keep 3' of space on each side of the table clear so that people seated at the table can have a space to pull out chairs, or move around freely behind those sitting at the table.

-Pay attention to other furniture. If you have a buffet against the wall, measure three feet out from that piece of furniture.

How to choose a table size

HOW TO CALCULATE THE RIGHT SIZE TABLE:

1) Measure the length and width of your dining space.

2) Subtract 6 feet from the length and width of the space to allow a 3’ clearance on all sides.

3) The result is the maximum size recomended for your dining table. For example, if you have a 12’ x 9½’ space, the maximum size for your table would be 72” x 40”.

-Allow about 2’ per person at a rectangular table, though you can squeeze in more chairs when needed.
